THE PINION SHAFT TURNS THE GEARS INSIDE THE DIFFERENTIAL THAT ROTATE THE DRIVE AXLES AND REAR WHEELS. IF THE LOCKING SCREW COMES LOOSE, IT COULD DAMAGE OTHER COMPONENTS OR JAM IN THE GEARS.
